Botulinum toxin type A
Most people assume that botox is only used on the face as a way to combat the lines and wrinkle patients get as they age. However, this is untrue.
Botox can be used for a umber of other conditions and is used on a daily basis for medical conditions.
At the Body Treatment Centre we use it for a condition called hyperhydrosis more commonly known as excess sweating.
Botox is injected into the underarm of the patient to help prevent the release of a chemical called acetylcholine which carries signals from the c nervous system to the sweat glands in the underarm to stimulate sweat production.
